For the fourth year running, Tommy Hilfiger has partnered with the Fund for Living. Phillips-Van Heusen, owners of Calvin Klein amongst other popular brands announced their plans to take over Tommy Hilfiger on the 15th of March, a move which will see the company become one of the largest in the fashion industry. Tommy Hilfiger is keeping tight-lipped concerning details of its future role in China following the announcement yesterday (31 March) it is to assume direct control in the country. Hilfiger has designed a limited edition bag, which sees 50% of the proceeds of its sales being donated to the fund. Last year Tommy Hilfiger saw a rise of 3.5% in sales over a six month period. This was helped by the exclusivity deal between itself and American department store Macy’s. To support the project, Milla Jovovich is this year’s ambassador for the project, and she follows hot on the heels of past ambassadors Carla Bruni and Helena Christensen, who herself continues her support for the project by returning this year, but as photographer. Among her proudest finds: a soft pink Jacob shirt dress and fuschia Tommy Hilfiger purse she bought for a dollar each at St. Vincent de Paul. Helena snapped the gorgeous imagery of Milla with the luxury bag, which with its combination of carmine red leather and a relaxed style make it one of spring’s must-haves. To outfit her four-year-old daughter, Lola, Wilson regularly scans the clearance racks at Loblaws. “The Joe Fresh collection ALWAYS has items on sale,” she wrote. “I’ve found beautiful little cotton dresses for her for $5 and at the end of every summer, I stock up on cute little-girl shoes one to two sizes too large, always for no more than $2.94 a pair.”
